Dull Parade

Der33 There are metal elements here for sure, but to my ear this is intelligent, unique hard rock of a kind that hasn’t been made in a long, long time - some fantastic melodic hooks in here.
muschiosauro
muschiosauro thumbnail
muschiosauro Hardcore yelling in a stoner/sludge record? Yes, and these guys manage to make it work adding some 90s indie elements and blending everything in a cohesive, credible and powerful whole. The band is super tight, the songwriting is always intelligent, and the outcome is an album that is heavy but also uplifting. Awesome work. Favorite track: Lights Out / Knives Out.
Poesy Rider
Poesy Rider thumbnail
Favorite track: Elizaberri.

I awoke to the grace of moving creatures in the night Well « come on over » is what they said on a bed of sulfur Yet in the meantime I walk a straight line Count me out I'm not ready for this The saints and the sinners they hang out with liars The fucking, the lying, the crying it feels Like dying I crawled out of the pointless hole I dug in my heart And swore, come on over, we’ll be together forever and ever Yet in the meantime All hell is racing through my mind So count me out Will you fucking count me out?!?
2.
Honey you know the frame It’s picture perfect, balanced well And it comes and goes With the quickness of foes Showers of light Through enemy lines A paradox Oh, the equinox Honey we know the name Flashes red, keeps us fed But showers of love They’re not enough What a paradox With fear and candeur I’d eat you With lips as razors I’d bleed through With wolves for hire I’d pass through With stones and daggers I’d bleed you Strange blooms in the heart of Man Unsafe ordinary lands In the last days of May We’ll be looking for March When April fooled her entourage And June will be coming Looking for Johnny Where Julie died, laughing
3.
Lights out Shine your weapons This is the hour We bring it on Knives out Murder the other There is no word Left to honor In this dim-lit space there is no place for compassion The bets are placed, there goes your champion He swings from words and on and on Lil' love, there comes your retribution Outside these walls We once were born Outside these walls I don't recall Lights out / Knives out

Spare me with your eyes I don't have the time To fuck around, put on a frown Be the spell in these battle cards Scare me with your eyes Take pride in these battle scars Then turn around Face the crowd Swallow up And bow down See I'm just like you Marlon Brando I like my women with guns and ammo And I might, yes I might tear you apart if you ever doubt my name Cause I remain a broken arrow A little east of west Orlando And I might, yes I might tear you apart if you ever call my game See I'm just like you Marlon Brando I like my women with guns and ammo There is no end in sight Get it out of your head There won't be no peace Till you’re down, in tears

I crawled and walked a lonely road It’s nothing close to what you’ve known And all along this lonely road The love we share is untold of But I’ll never say a word I just can’t… Cut it Bleed it I’m with you Through every hour I understand your every move Grace above craved for soon A quiet place and peaceful home Maybe it’s time we let you roam Keep calm Lie down Lie down with me under starlit splendors We’ll find a way There are all things here to match our vision A quiet confession drained of passion We’ll put an end to all things sacred We’ll burn the customs we were all raised on And if the fear of what’s next shakes the nerves in your hands Remember your name runs through my veins

Elizaberri 04:23
Captain Father, here we are Doused in gasoline The mark has been made out We’re thrown into a scene And where do we gotta run? The noise is distant still Is this the top of the world Or just a game we play down here? Follow blind whales They know home And your arms left us there to find our way When we buried little hearts ours grew gray Write the stories on our graves… I’ve been down here For thirty years I’ve learned one thing: we never learn If the sign marks left Turn right If the earth moves fast Push back Will your arms take us there to find our way? Will the stories on their graves make it okay? Guess we’ll find out anyway…

I wrote a note on a pretty paper It sang of every tear With heart, we live Still it doesn't matter So I wrote it over and over Till there was nothing left I was out of words Now I thank you for this I've been disgusted and ashamed I've been let down and afraid I know how it feels to be The one here inside of this Over and over, the wheels they keep turning under the chariot on this path It's a long road gone back We’re on our way back to this With violence on every lips We’re on our way back to this These things buried up inside Come out - no you’re ugly now These lines here among the swine Don’t match the heart you used to have Close your eyes count on your lucky star « Dear treasure, Do not ever let them X mark you. For you are so much more than here & valued. More than a galleons womb emptied in a coral cradle & Pulmonary atlas’ aside, More than can ever be mapped By any rapscallion Begrudgingly seeking an honest word or an End to roads. No matter what blue they might pull from the Crayola It will never be your eyes Or sky Party shaded or otherwise Or capture you laughing A way I’d care to remember. & So Another year begets My fondness For the days when Men wrote letters And but once, A softness parted To study lips With a promised pair. » Are we on our way back home? No We’re on our way back to this Count on your lucky star

Well this is everything we have It’s painted blue, it’s painted black There could be purple, there could be light It’s this dull parade that keeps us apart I’m sorry for what I’ve done, for what I didn’t do Not sorry about anything, it’s all because of you Well this is everything we hide Slaying pink unicorns in the night And I’m not sure if I should tell you this But there’s more to come at the precipice Hey Sally, you know me, I’m not really here And the things you feel, they’re just not for me Hey Sally, you saw me, I’m not really here And the things I feel don’t belong in me

Kitty awoke Then she died It’s funny how your life goes by We meet again in photographs Dance alone in the night When we were kids you’d bury me Under curses of leprosy Now I feel like you would to Drinking gallons out in the blue And I know - On airwaves I roam At the gallows - On airwaves at home Blood is the traitor - On airwaves I roam That runs through our veins - On airwaves at home Put the needle to the record And let it spell my name I’ve been around for years Looking in vain The more I get to know you The less I understand Your games Playing myself again So Lord, please, let me go Clear the airwaves We don’t have much time Till they take me back To the place I died
